DAY 1: Moab, Utah
Meet your guides and fellow travellers today at your downtown Moab hotel. This evening attend a pre-trip briefing that includes instruction for packing of your "dry bags." Gonzo Inn DAY 2: Moab/Colorado River Drive to a section of the Colorado River that is broad and quiet for your launch. Soon you find yourself captivated by the pace of the river, the beautiful scenery and enjoying the camaraderie of your fellow travellers. Float lazily under the red cliff walls that tower 2,000 feet overhead. This evening, relax and explore while the staff prepares camp and dinner. Share stories of the day's adventure around the evening campfire. A&K River Camp B L D DAY 3: Colorado River Board your raft and float deeper into Canyonlands National Park where the spectacular scenery rivals the lower Grand Canyon. Visit ancient, haunting Pueblo ruins and petroglyphs. Later, enjoy the spectacular star-filled sky as you relax and converse with your fellow travellers. A&K River Camp B L D DAYS 4-5: Colorado River The challenge begins at the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers, where the river doubles in size and force as it enters Cataract Canyon. Encounter the notorious "Mile-Long Rapid," a series of sheer drops and furious whitewater followed by rapids affectionately named Big Drops, Little Niagara and Satan's Gut. A&K River Camp B L D DAY 6: Colorado River/Moab Traverse the remainder of the canyon during the day. At Hite Marina, climb aboard your charter aircraft for a spectacular flight over the canyons, en route to Moab where your journey ends. B L RAPIDS > CLASS III-V Full of waves that wash over the tubes of the raft with cooling splashes (Class III) to massive living torrents that crown high over your head - a complete soaking with lots of boat rocking (Class V) RAFTS USED Oar rafts, paddle rafts and possibly J-Rig
