Day 1: Arrive El Paso, Texas
A transfer is included from El Paso Int’l Airport to the El Paso Marriott. Your trip begins with an interpretive lecture by a veteran conservationist on the bats of Carlsbad Caverns, and continues at the El Paso Museum of Art with a docent tour of their collection of more than 5,000 works of American, European and Mexican art – and our private welcome reception and dinner, right in the museum.

Day 2: Amazing Carlsbad Caverns and more
Pass through Guadalupe Mountains National Park en route to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Explore Carlsbad Cavern itself, an underground grotto that rises into a room 22 stories high and stretches for more than a mile! Enjoy a private Mescalero-style dinner tonight, after settling in at your mountain resort.
Overnight: Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino, Mescalero, NM

Day 3: Resort leisure or White Sands National Monument
Spend the day your way at Inn of the Mountain Gods, taking advantage of the resort’s many recreational activities including bird watching, hiking, fishing, trail riding, golf, boating and more (additional costs may apply). Or you can set off on Tauck’s optional sightseeing excursions. Get a close-up look at the world’s largest gypsum sand dune field at the White Sands National Monument, and visit the Hubbard Museum in Ruidoso. Dine tonight at your resort’s signature restaurant, Wendell’s.

Day 4: Old Town Albuquerque and on to Santa Fe
Stop to see the Lincoln State Monument on your way to Albuquerque. Check out Old Town on your own, perhaps visiting the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, then continue to Santa Fe for three nights. Dine at leisure at the Old House restaurant.

Day 5: The many flavors of Santa Fe
See a rich cultural mix of Native American, Spanish and Old West influences on a guided walking tour of Santa Fe. A private presentation by a local chef prompts a discussion on regional ingredients and cooking techniques, prior to lunch at the Santa Fe School of Cooking. Have dinner tonight at La Casa Sena in one of Santa Fe’s oldest original homes.

Day 6: The desert and ancient Pueblo de Taos
Travel through desert and mountain landscapes to Ranchos de Taos to see the 18th-century San Francisco de Asís Church and Pueblo de Taos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Storyteller Roberta Meyer shares regional legends en route to a crossing of the dramatic Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. At Pueblo de Taos, explore terraced communal dwellings that have been continuously inhabited for over 1,000 years, then return to Santa Fe.

Day 7: Santa Fe art, Bandelier and Albuquerque
A private morning visit to the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum showcases nearly 3,000 works of art, over 1,100 of which are paintings, sculptures and drawings by this prolific artist herself. Visit Bandelier National Monument, one of North America’s oldest human settlements, for a close look at its remarkable cliff dwellings as we travel to your resort in Albuquerque for an overnight stay and a farewell cocktail party and dinner.

Day 8: Journey Home
Tour ends: Albuquerque. Fly home anytime. A transfer is included from Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa to Albuquerque International Sunport; allow a minimum of two hours for flight check-in. Ask at booking about extending your stay with additional hotel nights.
